What to Know About Bethany Beach Weather by Season

There’s never a bad time to book a Bethany Beach vacation with Wilgus Associates. Whether looking to celebrate the holidays at one of our rentals or planning a memorable spring break, any season is a good season to explore our slice of Delaware. However, the conditions of certain times of year might fit your ideal activities better than others. To help you decide when to visit, we’ve put together a cheat sheet of Bethany Beach weather by season.

Spring (March-May)

Temperatures slowly start to rise once March hits. Daily highs start in the high-50s and reach the mid-70s by late May. The average low settles around the high-60s by the end of the season. These conditions mean you can spend time outdoors at the Bethany Beach Nature Center or the beach without worrying about large summer crowds.

Summer (June-August)

There’s a reason summer is one of the most popular times to visit Bethany Beach. Temperatures become even more idyllic, with daily highs increasing to the 80s while daily lows are around the mid to high-60s. In between golfing at The Salt Pond Golf Club and walking along the Bethany Beach Boardwalk, cool off with ice cream from Maureen’s Ice Cream and Desserts or Kohr Brothers Frozen Custard.

Fall (September-November)

From September to November, things start to cool off. By the end of the season, average temperatures by the end of November are in the mid-50s. Lows are even cooler, so we recommend enjoying outdoor adventures earlier in the day. Fall is the perfect time to visit state parks, including Holts Landing State Park and Delaware Seashore State Park.

Winter (December-February)

Winter makes its presence known with even cooler conditions. Early December sees average temperatures in the low 50s; by late February, the thermometer often reads temperatures in the 40s. However, this isn’t as frigid as some parts of the country, which means you can still spend time outdoors as long as you are dressed appropriately. For even more help deciding when to book your winter vacation, take a look at the lineup of popular festivals like the Schellville Enchanted Winter Celebration and the Fire and Ice Festival.
