Discover Sea Shipwreck Museum

The museum is an ever-changing exhibit that expands and diversifies with the acquisitions of new artifacts as they are recovered. Our collection of shipwreck and recovered artifacts is one of the largest in the Mid-Atlantic and contains shipwreck artifacts both regional and worldwide. Our current location houses about 10,000 artifacts at all times, while the other 80% are rotated throughout museum exhibits around the world. Our long-range goal is to expand our facilities to exhibit the entire collection at one location.

The John West Park is located at the intersection of West and Oakwood Avenues in Ocean View. Picnic tables, grills, a picnic pavilion, and various exercise and playground equipment are available to park visitors. Restroom facilities are available at the rear of Town Hall.
Ocean View Historical Society members envisioned and built an Historical Complex on the Tunnell-West property at 39 Central Avenue in Ocean View. The downstairs of the Historical House is now complete and furnished with period furniture and artifacts. There is an 1800’s outhouse that stands close to the Historical House. The exterior of the post office built in 1889 has been restored. An exact replica of Cecile Steele’s first chicken house has been built and includes many local poultry artifacts.
