We had stayed in this community before, these townhouses are pretty much the same layout, so we knew what to expect with regard to that. We like that it's dog friendly, we like the layout (bedroom/bath on the ground floor for the rents, living area on the 2nd floor and rest of the bedrooms on the 3rd). The deck is pretty spacious. This unit is tastefully decorated but possibly over decorated, per a fairly specific taste, the owners, clearly. There was enough room for all of us though, nine adults for one night, all family so we didn't mind the tightness for that short period of time. We were however disappointed to find out that the pool had been closed by the HOA because the pool was a huge selling point for us. On top of that when we arrived, we noticed there was a "Ring" doorbell on the front of the unit. You can activate a ring at any time, listening in, watching and recording any comings and goings of the occupants. We prefer not to be spied on while on vacation, or anytime for that matter.. We also, discovered that the master bedroom closet was locked. There was nowhere to store luggage, comforter, decorative pillows or hang up clothes, it was a pretty tight room for the week, with everything all over the floor.
Master TV would not connect to the internet. Hard reboot and tried to connect using code, but couldn't without medio com user name and password. Also could not locate the tv remote for tv in master only the roku remote, which offers extremely limited viewing options.
We were able to "add channels" to the living room tv but nowhere else.
No live tv in any room, except the living room and that was after a frustrating process of "adding channels".
The deck umbrella was broken by the time we stayed there, the end of summer, not the owner's fault probably.
There was an ant issue. There were ant traps everywhere and we found spray that would keep them at bay for a couple of days at a time.
The grill is not useable. Apparently the owner does not want it to be used. It was chained so it can't be moved and there wasn't a propane tank. Also there was no blender, but we solved that by having one of our guests, arriving a few days later, bring one with them.
The community is small but nice and friendly. It is close enough, for us, to the beach and we like the casualness of it.
We might consider renting it again, it was pretty comfortable and convenient to everything, if the rates stay consistent, including the dog fee, which we found reasonable. Also you don't HAVE to rent linens from Wilgus, which we love as another local rental company has made that a mandatory requirement to rent from them. I like to bring my own linens, and won't pay for a service I wont use. We gave it 3 stars mostly because of the locked master closet and the ring doorbell, otherwise it was a nice unit and very clean.
